Preveza: Do not forget to make a stroll into the old city and visit the little tavernas for dinner or just a meze with a cold beer , wine or an ouzo. If your time schedule allows you ,visit Nikopolis Museum, hire a car and head to Acheron river for a swim , horse riding, canoe/cayak or just a pick-nik next to this beautiful river or if you feel like it and you get lucky a beach party will be going on in one of the beach bars on the beautiful and picturesque beaches on the Western side were the yachts cannot approach and anchorage.

Tavernas recommended: Kaiksis Tavern/ The Mermaid (Ask for Tasos) , The Meltemi ( Ask for Kostas) or the Crazy Shrimp (Ask for Zois)Do not forget to go to HABE for ice-cream and fresh made sweets (Apple Pie, Ravani, Nuts Pie) . Combine them is the best way to eat them.

Lefkas Island: Pay a visit to the small waterfalls in Nidri , only 3 km away from it, easily reachable even by renting bikes. Renting a car or scooters to visit the western part of the island might be the best way to enjoy the famous beaches of Ay Gianni, Ay Nikitas, Egremni and Porto Katsiki as due to the prevailing winds there is usually a swell there , making it uncomfortable for a yacht to stay on anchor. If you are lovers of scuba diving there are 2 centers that will back you up one in Nidri and one in Vasiliki. Vasiliki is also the best option if you wanna windsurf as there you can usually find strong winds and relatively calm sea.

Tavernas recommended: Nidri: The “Hipocambus” in Vliho/ SE side
Lefkas Town: Just next to public port if it is pita giros time for you go to the “Daltons”. It is high likely that you will have to wait but it does worth it.
Sivota : “Yannis” Taverna , entering the port with your vessel on your right hand.

Kefallinia: The first thing one should do in Kefallinia is to rent a scooter. The view, especially looking to the western side of the island is breathtaking. Endless kilometers of wild beauty, tyrcoiz waters and cliffs or sandy beaches will catch your eye. So rent a scooter and get ready to cover some miles. Do not forget to make a stop at Melissani Cave, the Cave of the Nymphs, near Sami port. Need to do something more athletic? You can do some horse riding, scuba diving or pay a visit to the tennis club in Campo Allegre.

Zakinthos: This island is famous for two things. The great nightlife and its National Marine Park. However there are lots more to see and do in Zakinthos. Go to Agios Dionisios church, the patron saint of Zakinthos, which is located on the waterfront in town, was built in 1925 and survived the big earthquake of 1953. Don’t forget to go around the island if weather permits and visit the blue caves, the shipwreck beach and the smugglers cove. Scuba-diving and other watersports of course are offered here as well. If you are a lover of Ancient Greece, just catch the ferry or a bus from the mainland and head to Olympia.

Kastos & Kalamos: My best advice for you regarding those two islands when you arrive after a nice day of sailing, would be to do nothing! If you choose Kastos, go to the Chef’s House for a nice dinner and maybe to the windmill for a last drink. If you go to Kalamos why not consider to offer yourself a lazy day? Just go to George’s tavern, ask for some ouzo or wine and relax with your friends. A great pizzeria (the one and only) has opened to the island and as rumors say, the pizza is excellent. You can always call it a day by having some ice-cream or just a drink in the small bar just 300m up to the village.

Meganisi: The island that proves us ,that simple is good. Meganisi gives you two choices. Either stay on anchor and enjoy your privacy or visit one of the two small ports and socialize a bit. Either you go to little Vathi or to Spartohori, it is most certain that you will find there many people (mostly yachtsmen), relaxed, enjoying the scenery and ready to share with you some of their latest adventures. Don’t forget to try some hot chocolate pie with ice-cream. If you feel like walking up the hill ,you can always go to Spartohori , a small village constructed on the hill and offering nice view to the sea.

Taverna recommended. “Karnagio” right before you enter little Vathi port on your right. The owners will offer you mooring lines, water and shore power and you will only have to go and enjoy your meal or dinner to their place. Depending the day, you might even find a party going on!

KERKIRA: Kerkira or Corfu Island, is one of the most historical and well known islands of Ionian Sea. One could spend at least a couple of days there and still he wouldn’t be able to see everything. Kerkira offers it all. Nightlife, archaeological sites and beautiful beaches! Must do things: Trailriders Horse Trekking, enjoy a coffee or a drink at “The Liston” Square, visit the archaeological museum of Corfu and the Sissy’s Palace (Achileion) , the Paleokastritsa Monastery, the Old and the New Fortresses, the Temple of St.Spyridon. The best way to visit the island is on scooter as traffic especially during high season can be too much. As it happens to most touristic places, some people might try to take advantage of you so always ask for the menu or the prices in general before taking the service.

Paxos & Antipaxos Islands :  In Antipaxos island one should not expect to find any kind of facilities as the island is inhabited. It is mostly famous for its beautiful white sand beach up to the NE. Paxos on the other hand is one of the smallest yet very interesting islands of Ionian. You will definitely enjoy a stroll in Gaios or Lakka ports, canoeing on Manadendri Beach , a walk to the Lighthouse, Plani Beach and the narrow streets in the villages. Some of you could find the net mending (a never ending job for fishermen) quite interesting to watch.

Parga : The ornament of Preveza Perfecture! During the day stay out in the sea and enjoy the breeze and the swimming. When the night comes though, get dressed and get ready to party. Parga has many beautiful taverns and restaurants to choose from. A walk up to the hill where her beautiful castle lies is worth it. All around you will find some really interesting and beautifully decorated bars, therefore a stop for a drink is a must do! Many of the restaurants or bars have a breathtaking view and it will stay in your minds for a long time. The souvenir shops stay open until really late so there is always time to do some shopping. Enjoy!
